Fishing

The East Fork of the Salmon River and the Salmon River proper offer some of the best fishing in Idaho. Steelhead and trout are in abundance for both the fly fisherman and the spinning rod angler. Step off the Lodge porch straight to the river, or book a guided trip. Jimmy Smith Lake is a high-desert lake great for family fishing, and a favorite ice-fishing destination, as are Bayhorse Lakes.

Star Gazing

Connect with the universe and marvel at the vastness and beauty of the night sky from the lodge or visit the Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve (CIDSR). Sporting some of the darkest skies in the lower 48, you have the opportunity to see the sky in a way most of the U.S. cannot.

Hunting

Hunting in Central Idaho offers a diverse opportunity for big and small game alike. The rugged terrain provides habitat for elk, mule- and white-tail deer, bighorn sheep, pronghorn, bears and mountain lions, as well as several varieties of birds such as chukars and quail. The area is a sought-after destination for outfitter-led hunts or for hunters fortunate enough to get tags on their own.
